Free Book Exchange
Doyle Public Library believes that reading should be accessible for all. To make this a reality, we have three options for patrons who do not want to worry about fines:

Please remember that the rules below only apply to free book exchange titles.
Regular library materials must be checked out.
Ask your librarian if you are not sure if a title is an exchange item, or a regular material.

Free Book Exchange:

What is it?

The free book exchange is a shelf that contains books that you can take home without ever having to worry about fines or fees.

These are books that have been kindly donated by patrons that may not have suited our collection, or that may have been doubles of items we already have on our shelves.

How does it work?

Simply stop in, pick a book up off the free-book-exchange shelf, and you're done!

You can return the book whenever you like.

Or, if you want to, you can keep the title! It's up to you.

Children's Exchange:

What is it?

A collection of fiction and nonfiction books for ages zero to twelve and beginner readers.

These books are exempt of all fines and fees. If they are lost, forgotten, or damaged, it's okay. You do not have to pay for the items, or replace them.

How does it work?

Pick the books you like, or let a little one browse.
Select the title to take home, and you're done! -
You can return the book whenever you like, or keep it if it is a beloved title.

If the book is lost or damaged, there is no cost, fee, or expectation for the item to return.

Free Little Library:

What is it?
-
The cute little mini-library out by the Doyle Public Library's front porch.

A weather-proof storage location for free books, bookmarks, coloring pages, pencils, and more.

How does it work?

Pull down on the metal handle, and inside you will find plenty of library freebies.

Take wherever item you would like.
-
Leave books you no longer want, or would love someone else to have the chance to read.
